Welcome to the Hub

In the heart of the beautiful Cornish coastal village of Polruan, The Quay Community Arts Hub CIC is a friendly, inclusive, not-for-profit arts space. The Hub is run by volunteers and shaped by the community it serves. We exist to support creativity, connection and shared learning in Polruan and the surrounding areas.

Whether you’re an artist, maker, reader, learner, or simply curious, you’ll find a warm welcome here.

MEMBER-RUN, MEMBER-LED
The Hub is guided by the people who use it. As a member-run and member-led space, we’re excited for the community to shape what happens here - from workshops and exhibitions to informal meetups and shared projects.

The Hub will grow and evolve through the ideas, energy, and imagination of its members.

THE SPACE

Just beyond the Quay and set over two floors, the Hub is a place where people can gather to:

  • Make and create

  • Explore new ideas, or rediscover old favourites

  • Exchange skills and knowledge

  • Read, reflect, and experiment

  • Meet others and find inspiration in a supportive creative environment

  • Book space to host small-group events

We believe creativity grows through collaboration, curiosity and community participation.

We want the Hub to evolve organically through the community’s input. If you’d like to discuss ideas for using the space, please email us at:

Midweek. Meet. Make.

Every Wednesday from 2-4pm

Come and make some mid-week magic at the Hub. Whether it’s the Polruan Art Group, or the Drawing Group, we are always open to members and non-members on Wednesdays.

Everyone is welcome - if you’re picking up a brush or pencil for the first time or have years of experience, it doesn’t matter here. Sessions are informal and self-directed, and a basic range of art materials will be available to borrow or purchase if you do not have your own.

Members: £3/Non-Members: £5

Please note, space is limited at the Hub, so please email quayartshub@gmail.com to book your place and avoid disappointment

Fridays 10.30am to 12.30pm

Whether you want peace and quiet to work, a chat and a cuppa in a comfy chair, or the chance to finish the artwork you started on Wednesday, The Hub is always open for members to drop in on Mondays and Fridays.

Cost: FREE

Members may bring a non-member guest for a charge of £3.00 per person

OTHER creative events

In addition to our art activities and workshops, we will also be hosting groups and occasional classes in other areas of the creative arts.

Our Poetry Club begins this month (17th March, 6pm), for anyone who loves poetry and wants to share and explore their favourite poems in a small friendly group and perhaps learn about different styles.

If you are interested, drop us a line at quayartshub@gmail.com to find out more. No experience or knowledge is necessary, just come along.

Other potential groups and workshops will include:

  • Beginning Filmmaking – understanding how films are made and how to tell a story.

  • Understanding Shakespeare – demystifying the language and themes in Shakespeare’s plays, and getting to know some of the stories and characters.
